Citec, key player in event mobility

Commissioned in 2022 by the Swiss Football Association (ASF) to lead and deliver the mobility component of Switzerland’s bid for WEURO 2025, Citec designed the mobility concept for the national candidacy and subsequently translated it into concrete operational measures. Following UEFA’s confirmation of Switzerland as host, our experts contributed to the mobility planning for the Geneva and Sion venues, which hosted five and three matches respectively. As Host City Mobility Managers, Franco Tufo, founder and CEO of Citec, and Pierre Favre, Director of Citec Valais and Head of Mobility and Transport for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Crans-Montana 2027, coordinated efforts with the cities, police forces, Swiss Federal Railways (CFF) and UEFA—from crowd-flow planning to the management of all onsite operational phases (transport hubs, parking, signage and wayfinding, mobility staff management, and more). Citec drew on its extensive experience from major international events (Ryder Cup 2018 and 2023, Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Milan-Cortina 2026, etc.) to ensure seamless access and fluid movement throughout the tournament. A historic partner of women’s football, Citec also supports Servette FC Chênois Féminin since 2017.
