BRISBANE – From 13 to 15 October 2026, UITP (International Association of Public Transport), the global association of public transport stakeholders, is holding a training course on public transport for major events, in which Citec is taking part as a trainer.
With the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games approaching and an ever busier calendar of major sporting and cultural events, Australian cities are preparing for unprecedented mobility needs. Over three days, this UITP Academy training covers the impact of major events on urban mobility, operational and organisational challenges, crowd management, security and emergency planning, as well as smart mobility tools: integrated ticketing, real-time information and AI-assisted crowd management.
Stefano Manelli among the trainers
Director of Citec Italy and Large events specialist, Stefano Manelli will share his experience of the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cups, UEFA European Championships and Champions League finals. He will notably present the Paris and Milano Cortina case study, alongside Conan Cheung (LA Metro), David McCrae (TMS) and Shane Bedford (INIT).
