Citec take an active part in the planning of FIFA 2018 Russian Football WCup

With the FIFA 2018 WCup Citec extends its activity on the Russian territory! In May 2013 the first phase of the demand analysis for the 2018 Tournament has been completed and presented to the Russian Ministry of Transport in Moscow.

The tournament will take place in June 2018, involving 32 teams over 64 matches, 11 Host cities and 12 Stadia will welcome more than 3 million of spectators from all over the world.

Citec, with the technical support of Prof. P.Bovy (professor emeritus at EPFL Lausanne and mega-event IOC transport expert) developed a multi-modal demand model to analyse the different demand scenarios and their potential impact on transport infrastructures and facilities, giving to the Ministry additional elements to complete the 2018 transport infrastructure development plan.
